Cupressocyparis leylandii - Leyland Cypress

New

Leyland cypress is a natural cross-species hybrid between cupressus macrocarpa and chamaecyparis nootkatensis. It is a fast-growing conifer, especially suitable for cut hedges. It is rarely planted as a solitary evergreen tree.
The needles are dark green and spread on twigs into flat fans. Cypress trees, unlike cypresses and arborvitae, do not lose color in winter. The shape is narrowly conical in youth, later broadly rounded. Can be cut from spring to late summer, do not cut into older wood.

Requirements: it grows in almost any well-drained soil where it will have enough space for roots. It is resistant to diseases and pests. Frost resistant to min. -24 ° C.
